Kokcha News Agency: The Taliban has released another hostage, Amir Amiri, a U.S. citizen, with the help of mediation by Qatar and Zalmay Khalilzad. U.S. Senator Marco Rubio proudly announced the news, stating, “Trump promised that no American would remain a hostage.”
However, behind this release lies a more sinister reality:
1. The release coincided with a complete internet blackout, internal Taliban conflicts, and reports of security reshuffles.
2. The Taliban has yet to reveal the whereabouts of Mahmoud Habibi, the most prominent American prisoner—or even confirm if he is still alive.
3. Zalmay Khalilzad, the man who legitimized the Taliban, has reappeared—this time to “consult on hostages.”
This raises a critical question:
Is the Taliban a government, or is it a hostage-taking organization with an official office in Doha?
In this dirty game, neither democracy nor humanity matters. The only thing of value is the deal.
And the real victims? The people of Afghanistan.
