Hamas Announces Agreement to End War in Gaza and Prisoner Exchange
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has officially announced the achievement of an agreement to end the war in Gaza and facilitate a prisoner exchange, following intense negotiations mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey.

Kokcha News Agency – In a statement released early Thursday, Hamas declared that it has reached an agreement to end the genocidal war against the Palestinian people in Gaza, secure the withdrawal of Israeli forces, allow the entry of humanitarian aid, and facilitate a prisoner exchange. The announcement comes after serious and responsible negotiations between Hamas, Palestinian resistance groups, and mediators over a proposal presented by U.S. President Donald Trump in Sharm El-Sheikh.
Hamas expressed gratitude to the mediating countries—Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey—and acknowledged the efforts of President Trump in pushing for a complete cessation of hostilities and the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. The statement called on Trump, the guarantor countries, and all Arab, Islamic, and international parties to ensure that the occupying government fully implements the agreement without delay or evasion of its commitments.
The statement also paid tribute to the Palestinian people in Gaza, Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the 1948 occupied territories, praising their heroic and dignified resistance against the fascist plans of the occupiers. Hamas emphasized that the sacrifices of the Palestinian people will not be in vain and reaffirmed its commitment to the national rights of the Palestinian people, including freedom, independence, and self-determination.
A senior Hamas official earlier told Al Jazeera that progress had been made on the issue of prisoner exchange, with Hamas agreeing to the release of all living Israeli captives. However, the handover of the bodies of deceased captives would be delayed until field conditions are met.
The official added that mediators have concluded talks with the Palestinian delegation and have begun discussions with the Israeli side. Mediators are now seeking final responses from the Zionist regime on remaining contentious issues. Significant progress has been made on the list of prisoners to be exchanged and the condition that Israel does not resume aggression after the release of captives.
Mediators have urged both the Palestinian and Israeli negotiating teams to reach a final agreement by Friday. The Palestinian delegation has emphasized the necessity of Israeli forces withdrawing from central Gaza cities before the release of prisoners. Mediators have assured the Palestinian side that, in the event of an agreement, President Trump will announce the end of the war.
