President Erdoğan: I Am Very Pleased with the Ceasefire Resulting from Hamas-Israel Talks

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his great satisfaction with the ceasefire resulting from the Hamas-Israel talks in Sharm El-Sheikh, to which Turkey contributed. He emphasized that Turkey will closely monitor the implementation of the agreement and continue to support the process.

Kokcha News Agency – President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that he is “very pleased” with the ceasefire agreement reached in Gaza following the Hamas-Israel talks in Sharm El-Sheikh, to which Turkey contributed.

In his statement, Erdoğan said, “We will closely monitor the full implementation of the agreement and continue to contribute to the process. I particularly thank Mr. Trump, who demonstrated the necessary political will to encourage Israel to agree to the ceasefire, as well as Qatar and Egypt.”

Erdoğan’s remarks came after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had approved the first phase of a ceasefire plan for Gaza.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Statement:
In a separate statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs od Türkiye also welcomed the ceasefire, expressing hope that it would end the two-year-long genocide in Gaza. The ministry stated, “We welcome the ceasefire in Gaza and hope it will bring an end to the ongoing genocide that has lasted for two years.”

The ministry highlighted that Turkey will continue to provide intensive humanitarian assistance to Gaza. It also emphasized that lasting peace in the Middle East can only be achieved through a just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The ministry expressed hope that the momentum gained in the ceasefire negotiations will contribute to the realization of a two-state solution in the near future. It also appreciated the mediation efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States in the ceasefire talks and pledged to continue its support during the implementation stages of the agreement.
