Trump Announces Additional 100% Tariff on China, Implements Export Controls on Critical Software

US President Donald Trump has announced that starting November 1st, the US will impose an additional 100% tariff on China, on top of the current tariffs, and will implement export controls on all critical software.

In a highly aggressive move on trade, US President Donald Trump sent an “extremely hostile” letter to China, stating that starting November 1st, the US will impose wide-ranging export controls on nearly all products manufactured by China, including some that are not even produced by China itself.

Trump described this as an unprecedented and “morally shameful” act in international trade, affecting all countries without exception.

Trump emphasized that this move is part of a long-planned strategy and stated, “Given China’s unprecedented behavior and on behalf of other countries facing similar threats, the US will impose an additional 100% tariff on China, effective November 1st (or earlier, depending on China’s response). Additionally, the US will implement export controls on all critical software starting November 1st.”
