World Leaders Emphasize Continuation of Ceasefire and Reconstruction of Gaza at Sharm El-Sheikh Summit

At the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, world leaders supported the continuation of the ceasefire and the reconstruction of Gaza, emphasizing the key role of regional countries in achieving lasting peace.

Kokcha News Agency – During the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit held in Egypt, world leaders emphasized the importance of continuing the ceasefire and rebuilding Gaza. French President Emmanuel Macron announced that humanitarian aid to Gaza would be accelerated, and France would cooperate with the U.S. and Israel to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of aid. Macron also revealed plans for a humanitarian aid conference and the mobilization of financial resources for Gaza’s reconstruction, stating that the UN Security Council had reached a consensus on governance in Gaza.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also spoke at the summit, stating that Italy is ready to play an active role in Gaza’s reconstruction. She praised the efforts of regional leaders, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in reaching the agreement. Meloni announced that Italy would increase its presence in the region if requested by the UN to help ensure stability and security.

Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibeh also welcomed the ceasefire agreement, calling it a significant step toward ending the suffering of the Palestinian people and establishing stability in the region. He commended the constructive role of U.S. President Donald Trump and the mediation efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey in achieving this agreement. Dbeibeh also stressed the importance of continued international cooperation to ensure lasting peace.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his happiness over the release of hostages in a social media post, calling it a testament to Donald Trump’s relentless efforts for peace in the region. Modi emphasized that India supports the U.S.’s efforts to bring peace to the Middle East and is ready to provide further assistance if needed.

Antonio Costa, President of the European Council, also announced at the summit that the European Union is prepared to play an active role in Gaza’s reconstruction. He stated that the EU would contribute to Gaza’s stability and reconstruction through security missions and humanitarian aid. Costa also emphasized the importance of disarming Hamas and establishing a democratic Palestinian state.
