Pezeshkian: If We Rely on the People, Anything is Possible / I Fear Internal Disputes, Not the U.S.
During a meeting on the development of educational justice in Isfahan, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that success or failure depends on management. He stated that he fears internal conflicts more than external threats like the U.S. or Israel, stressing that unity among Iranians is key to overcoming challenges.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, speaking at a meeting on the development of educational justice in Isfahan on Thursday, October 16, 2025, highlighted the importance of effective management in achieving success. He stated that 90% of an organization’s progress or failure is dependent on its management.
Pezeshkian shared his experiences from his tenure as the head of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, emphasizing that senior managers must believe in their ability to create the best outcomes. He stressed that the first step towards progress lies in the hands of education managers, who must have a clear vision and rely on the people rather than solely depending on the government.
The President expressed concern over the state of education in Iran, asking why children should not receive quality education and why they should not be motivated to achieve greatness. He called on education managers to inspire students and create an environment where they can thrive.
Pezeshkian also addressed the issue of brain drain, stating that it is not inherently bad for young people to go abroad to learn, but it is a tragedy if they do not return to serve their country. He criticized the current state of affairs, saying that Iran is “sleeping on gold but starving,” and that the blame lies with the country’s managers, politicians, and lawmakers, not with external forces like the U.S.
He warned against internal disputes, stating that unity among Iranians is essential to overcoming challenges. “If we fight among ourselves, we won’t need the U.S. or Israel to destroy us; we will do it ourselves,” he said.
Pezeshkian urged managers to take responsibility and create a competitive environment that fosters service, quality, and effectiveness. He emphasized that people will accept actions, not just words, and that leaders must demonstrate their commitment to serving the public rather than seeking power.
The President concluded by stressing the importance of perseverance and finding alternative solutions when faced with obstacles. He called for unity and cooperation, stating that with the help of the people and philanthropists, Iran can achieve great things.
