Kokche News Agency states that sources within Israeli media, including Kanal 13, claim Dostri’s tenure as Prime Minister’s spokesperson, which began in August last year, ended due to repeated verbal clashes with Sara Netanyahu.
The reports suggest that Sara Netanyahu has frequently intervened in state affairs and politics, often influencing appointments and decisions.
Before the appointment of Major General Roman Goffman as military secretary, there was reportedly a long preliminary discussion involving Sara Netanyahu. Former Israeli Finance and Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman also publicly accused Sara Netanyahu in 2023 of meddling in political and professional appointments.
While close sources to Netanyahu deny that Dostri’s dismissal was directly related to Sara Netanyahu, they indicate that the Prime Minister was dissatisfied with Dostri’s performance.
Additionally, the Israeli TV channel Kan reported that Dostri was dismissed after allegedly distributing photographs of security meetings related to the October 2024 Iran attack without authorization. Netanyahu has reportedly scolded Dostri multiple times, including during his recent diplomatic visit to Washington.
Recently, the Prime Minister’s Office announced that Ziv Agmon has been appointed as the new spokesperson due to Dostri’s departure, citing heavy workload as the reason. Dostri had been serving as the Prime Minister’s spokesperson since last August.
