President Erdoğan: We Will Not Accept a Plan That Legalizes Terrorist Groups in Syria

Kokcha News Agency reports that Erdoğan reaffirmed Turkey’s firm stance against efforts to justify or normalize terrorist groups operating in Syria. He emphasized that Turkey continues to support the stability, development, and unity of Syria and remains committed to ensuring that terrorist factions do not gain legitimacy on the regional or international stage.

The Turkish leader highlighted Ankara’s ongoing efforts to bolster security along its borders, mentioning operations like “Operation Euphrates Shield,” “Operation Olive Branch,” and “Peace Spring” aimed at removing terrorist threats and securing the sovereignty of Syria’s territories.

Erdoğan also pointed out that ongoing reconciliation efforts are part of a broader strategy to bring peace and stability to the region, but he warned against any attempts to undermine these efforts through political or diplomatic recognition of terrorist entities.

He reaffirmed Turkey’s support for a political solution based on the “decentralization” of Syria and the preservation of its territorial integrity, emphasizing that “The only sustainable solution is the unity and sovereignty of Syria, and any plan that legitimizes terrorist groups is unacceptable.”
