Trump Plans New Tariffs on 150 Countries
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced plans to impose new tariffs on approximately 150 countries, potentially ranging between 10% to 15%, in a move that could disrupt global supply chains and industrial activity.
Kokcha News Agency: In an interview with the “Real America’s Voice” network, former U.S. President Donald Trump revealed his intention to introduce new tariffs on around 150 countries.
Trump stated, “We’re going to announce a number for the rest (not the main countries), and it will include about 150 countries. We’re just going to announce a number, and it’s probably going to be 10 or 15 percent. We haven’t decided yet, but it’s a big deal.”
According to the U.S. Supply Management Institute, such trade policies could lead to a reduction in industrial activity within the United States and cause significant disruptions in global supply chains. Businesses are struggling to survive as companies are forced to offset rising costs.
However, markets are increasingly dismissing Trump’s aggressive rhetoric, as he has previously backed down from similar measures following strong backlash from investors.
