Hezbollah Secretary-General: “As Long as We Are Alive, Israel Will Never Achieve Its Goals”
Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary-General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, has declared that Israel will never achieve its objectives as long as Hezbollah remains active, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the resistance’s weapons to counter regional threats.
Kokcha News Agency: In a recent statement, Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary-General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, strongly criticized Israel’s ambitions in the region, accusing it of seeking to create a “Greater Israel” by dividing and fragmenting Middle Eastern countries. Qassem warned that such efforts, along with attempts to incite discord and integrate Lebanon into regional power dynamics, pose a dangerous threat.
Qassem identified three primary dangers facing Lebanon:
- The Israeli regime
- ISIS-affiliated groups on the eastern borders (referring to extremist factions in Syria)
- The United States
He argued that the issue is not about disarmament but rather a step in Israel’s expansionist agenda. Qassem emphasized that Hezbollah’s weapons are a crucial deterrent against Israeli aggression, stating, “Our weapons have kept Lebanon standing and have prevented Israel’s expansionist ambitions.”
Key Points from Qassem’s Speech:
- Resistance Weapons: Qassem stressed the necessity of maintaining the resistance’s weapons to counter the significant threats facing Lebanon. He called for unity among all Lebanese factions to prioritize this issue.
- Israeli Aggression: He asserted that Israel will never be able to disarm Hezbollah and that the group is fully prepared to defend Lebanon against any Israeli aggression.
- Hezbollah’s Role: Qassem declared, “As long as we are alive, Israel will never achieve its goals,” reaffirming Hezbollah’s commitment to resisting Israeli expansionism.
Hezbollah, a Shia Islamist political party and militant group based in Lebanon, has long positioned itself as a resistance force against Israeli influence in the region. The group’s armed wing has been involved in several conflicts with Israel, most notably the 2006 Lebanon War. Hezbollah’s rhetoric often centers on defending Lebanon’s sovereignty and countering what it perceives as Israeli and Western imperialism.
