Israel Assassinates Gaza Police Chief, Killing 12 Including Family Members
Israel carried out an airstrike targeting the home of Colonel Omar Said Akl, the director of the Nuseirat Police Center in Gaza, killing him and 11 members of his family, according to the Palestinian General Security Directorate.
Kokcha News Agency: In a targeted airstrike, Israel assassinated Colonel Omar Said Akl, the director of the Nuseirat Police Center in the central Gaza Strip. The attack, which took place at noon today, also killed 11 members of Akl’s family.
The Palestinian General Security Directorate condemned the strike, calling it “a new massacre added to the record of crimes committed by the occupiers against the Palestinian people.”
Despite the ongoing Israeli attacks, Palestinian security forces remain committed to standing by the people and supporting their resistance.
The statement also called on the international community and the United Nations (UN) to take a firm stance against Israel’s repeated violations of international law, which prohibits the targeting of police personnel.
