Three Assassination Attempts on Syrian President Ahmed Shara in 7 Months

Kokcha News Agency: According to Israeli media, Syrian President Ahmed Shara has been the target of three assassination attempts over the past seven months, with Turkish security forces credited for ensuring his safety.

The first attempt occurred in March when Shara was leaving the People’s Palace. A Turkish security unit detected suspicious activity and intervened, neutralizing the attacker.

The second attempt took place during Shara’s visit to Daraa province. Experienced Syrian and Turkish security personnel in Shara’s protection team noticed two suspicious individuals. To avoid a potential threat, the security team changed the President’s route at the last moment.

The third attempt, considered the most likely to succeed, involved an armed assailant setting up an ambush on Shara’s route in Damascus. Although details remain unclear, this attempt was also thwarted.

U.S. Special Representative for Syria, Tom Barrack, has confirmed the assassination attempts on Shara.
