Communication Restored with “Hanzala” Ship Carrying Humanitarian Aid to Gaza
The Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) has announced that communication with the "Hanzala" ship, which was temporarily lost while en route to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, has been restored. The ship, carrying 21 activists, continues its mission despite earlier concerns of a possible attack.
Kokcha News Agency: The Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) has confirmed that communication with the “Hanzala” ship, which was temporarily lost for approximately two hours, has been restored. The ship, carrying 21 activists, is on a mission to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, which remains under Israeli blockade.
In a statement released on its Telegram account, the FFC explained that the temporary loss of communication with the “Hanzala” had raised concerns of a possible interception or attack, especially after drones were spotted in the vicinity of the ship. However, the connection has now been reestablished, and the ship is continuing its journey. The FFC emphasized that the “Hanzala” is approximately 349 nautical miles away from Gaza and remains determined to complete its mission.
Earlier, the FFC had expressed alarm in a statement, saying, “All communication with our team on the Hanzala has been lost, and there are numerous drones in the vicinity of the ship. This suggests that they may have been intercepted or attacked.”
The “Hanzala” set sail from Italy’s Gallipoli Port on July 20, joining the Freedom Flotilla’s efforts to break the Israeli blockade and deliver much-needed aid to Gaza. The mission has faced significant challenges, including the risk of interception by Israeli forces, but the activists remain committed to their goal.
