Netanyahu and Trump Accuse Hamas of Blocking Hostage Deal, Explore Alternative Options
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump have both accused Hamas of obstructing a potential hostage deal, with Netanyahu stating that Israel is exploring alternative options with American allies to secure the release of hostages and achieve lasting peace in the region.

Kokcha News Agency: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that Israel is working with the United States on new plans regarding Gaza, accusing Hamas of being the primary obstacle to the release of hostages. In a recent statement, Netanyahu emphasized that the U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witoff, was “right” in his assessment that Hamas is preventing a deal to free the hostages.
Netanyahu stated, “We are evaluating alternative options with our American allies to bring our hostages home, end Hamas’s rule of terror, and secure lasting peace for Israel and our region.”
Echoing Netanyahu’s sentiments, U.S. President Donald Trump also accused Hamas of not being genuinely interested in reaching a deal. “Hamas really doesn’t want to make a deal,” Trump said, adding, “All the way to all the hostages.”
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has seen numerous attempts at negotiation, particularly regarding the release of hostages held by the militant group. However, progress has been stymied by what both Netanyahu and Trump describe as Hamas’s unwillingness to engage in meaningful dialogue.
Netanyahu’s latest comments suggest that Israel is considering alternative strategies to achieve its goals, including the possibility of bypassing Hamas altogether. This could involve increased military pressure or other diplomatic measures to force Hamas’s hand.
U.S. Involvement
The U.S. has been a key player in the region, with Special Envoy Steve Witoff leading efforts to mediate between Israel and Hamas. However, the lack of progress has led to frustration on both sides, with Netanyahu now looking for alternative solutions in collaboration with American allies.
Trump’s Position
President Trump’s remarks underscore the U.S. administration’s growing impatience with Hamas. By publicly accusing the group of obstructing a deal, Trump has aligned himself with Netanyahu’s hardline stance, signaling a potential shift in U.S. strategy toward the conflict.
