US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar to discuss enhanced counter-terrorism cooperation, particularly against ISIS-Khorasan.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar today.
During the meeting, Rubio acknowledged Pakistan’s role in regional mediation, particularly between Iran and other parties, and appreciated Islamabad’s commitment to maintaining regional stability.
The two sides discussed expanding counter-terrorism cooperation, including efforts to counter ISIS-Khorasan, and planned to hold a US-Pakistan counter-terrorism meeting in Islamabad this August.
Rubio also emphasized the importance of boosting bilateral trade and cooperation in strategic mining and mineral resources.
