Japanese F-2A Fighter Jet Crashes into Pacific Ocean During Training Flight
An F-2A fighter jet belonging to Japan’s Self-Defense Forces (SDF) crashed into the Pacific Ocean during a training flight, but the pilot ejected safely and was rescued.

Kokcha News Agency: A military aviation accident occurred in Japan when an F-2A fighter jet crashed into the Pacific Ocean during a training flight. According to a statement from Japan’s Self-Defense Forces (SDF), the incident took place off the coast of Ibaraki Prefecture.
The crash happened at 12:34 PM local time, and the sole pilot on board successfully ejected from the aircraft. The pilot was rescued by a UH-60J helicopter and taken to a hospital in stable condition.
The fallen jet was reportedly based at the Hyakuri Air Base in Ibaraki Prefecture. No damage to maritime vessels in the area was reported, and a detailed investigation into the cause of the crash has been launched.
