Kokcha News Agency – Israel’s security cabinet has approved a plan for the “complete occupation” of Gaza, a move that could lead to the displacement of over a million Palestinians. The Prime Minister’s Office announced the decision following a tense 10-hour meeting, during which the military was instructed to prepare for full control of the Gaza Strip.
The cabinet outlined five conditions for ending the occupation:
- The disarmament of Hamas.
- The return of 50 hostages, 20 of whom are believed to be alive.
- The complete demilitarization of the Gaza Strip.
- Israel’s full control over the Gaza Strip.
- The establishment of an alternative civilian administration, replacing Hamas and the Palestinian Authority.
The meeting reportedly saw heated arguments, with Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir opposing the plan, warning that it could endanger the lives of hostages. However, ministers pushed back against his concerns.
Prior to the meeting, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denied allegations of genocide in Gaza during an interview with Fox News. He claimed that Israel does not intend to annex or govern Gaza, but rather wants to hand it over to “Arab forces” who can manage it properly and provide a good life for Gazans. Netanyahu stated, “We are not committing genocide in Gaza. If we wanted to, we could have killed all Gazans.”
