Roadside Bomb in Balochistan Kills Five Security Personnel

Five Pakistani security personnel, including a local army commander, were killed in a roadside bomb blast during an operation in Sherband, Kach district of Balochistan. The military confirmed the incident and vowed to intensify counter-insurgency efforts.

Kokcha News Agency – A roadside bomb explosion in Sherband, Kach district of Balochistan, killed five Pakistani security personnel, including a local army commander, on Monday. The incident occurred during a special operation based on intelligence reports about militant presence in the area, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Shortly after the explosion, security forces engaged in a fierce firefight with armed militants, resulting in the deaths of five insurgents. Officials identified the militants as members of extremist groups. The military released the names and ages of the fallen soldiers, who hailed from various provinces across Pakistan, and described their sacrifice as a national loss.

ISPR emphasized that despite the tragic incident, counter-insurgency operations in Balochistan will not slow down. Efforts to restore peace and dismantle militant strongholds will be further intensified. Military officials acknowledged the loss of personnel as a severe blow but stressed that such attacks only strengthen the army’s resolve to combat terrorism.

Observers note that while military operations are ongoing in Balochistan, long-term security in the region will also depend on political, social, and developmental measures to address the root causes of instability.
