Number of UN Member States Recognizing Palestine Rises to 157

Kokcha News Agency – The State of Palestine has gained recognition from nine additional UN member states, bringing the total number of countries recognizing it to 157 out of 193 UN members.

France, Monaco, Belgium, Luxembourg, Malta, Canada, Australia, the UK, and Portugal are among the latest to announce their recognition. The Vatican, though not a UN member, also recognizes Palestine.

French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized the international community’s shared responsibility for building a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, while Monaco’s Prince Albert II reaffirmed support for Israel’s existence alongside recognizing Palestine.

Belgium and the Netherlands have set conditions for full diplomatic relations, including the release of hostages and the disarmament of Hamas.

This wave of recognition comes amid ongoing international criticism of Israel’s actions in Gaza.
