Israeli-Armed Gangs Kill Palestinian Journalist in Gaza
Journalist Murdered While Documenting Destruction
Kokcha News Agency: Gangs armed by Israel during its occupation of the Gaza Strip have killed Palestinian journalist Saleh al-Jaafarawi, a well-known figure on social media.
According to Palestinian press reports, Jaafarawi was killed by Israeli-backed illegal gangs in the Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
It was stated that Jaafarawi was attacked while working to record the destruction caused by Israel in the Sabra neighborhood and that his belongings were stolen by gang members.
Images of the body of Palestinian journalist Jaafarawi, wearing a “press”-marked flak jacket, being taken to Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City were shared on social media.
Many Palestinian journalists expressed their sadness at Jaafarawi’s death and issued messages of condolence.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, a source from the Ministry of Interior in Gaza pointed out that the forcibly displaced Palestinians returning from the south to the north of Gaza since the beginning of the ceasefire were also being targeted.
Jaafarawi, who conveyed the suffering of Palestinians during the Israeli genocide in Gaza to more than 330,000 followers on his US-based Instagram account, had become well-known, especially in the Arab world.
The Israeli army, on the other hand, made counter-statements regarding Jaafarawi’s posts, targeting him.
