Trump Claims FBI Has “Returned to Its Roots” Under New Leadership

Former U.S. President Donald Trump asserted that the FBI, previously hindered by “corrupt leadership,” has now returned to its foundational principles under new management.

Donald Trump, in a post on his Truth Social platform, shared a link to an article about the FBI, claiming that the bureau has “returned to its roots” under the leadership of FBI Director Kash Patel and his deputy Dan Bongino. Trump stated, “We have the best law enforcement professionals in the world, but politics and corrupt leadership often prevented them from doing their jobs.”

Trump added, “That is no longer the case, and they are now free to do their jobs, and that’s exactly what they’re doing. Keep going. Make America safe again.”

The article Trump shared highlighted FBI Director Patel’s statement that the U.S. has seen a record decline in the murder rate, which currently stands at 4.45 per 100,000 people, the lowest since 2014.

The FBI has recently been in the spotlight due to its investigation, alongside the Department of Justice, into the so-called “Epstein files.” The bureau concluded that there was no evidence of a “client list” involving high-profile individuals, and it confirmed that Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of sexually abusing underage girls and running a sex trafficking network, died by suicide in his jail cell in August 2019.
