Google’s Gemini AI Monitors WhatsApp and Calls Even When Inactive
Google’s AI assistant, Gemini, has been updated to access apps like WhatsApp, messages, and phone calls, raising concerns about user privacy as data may be reviewed by human reviewers or third-party contractors.

Kokcha News Agency: Google has rolled out an update to its AI assistant, Gemini, enabling it to access applications such as WhatsApp, messages, and phone calls. This development has sparked privacy concerns, as the data collected could potentially be reviewed by human reviewers or third-party companies contracted by Google.
A particularly alarming aspect is that users cannot fully and transparently disable these access permissions. Even after revoking certain permissions, user data may remain in the system for up to 72 hours.
This means that even when users are not actively using Gemini, the AI assistant could still be collecting data in the background. The lack of clear options to completely deactivate these features has raised questions about the extent of Google’s data collection practices and the potential implications for user privacy.
