US Ambassador to Ankara and Special Representative for Syria Tom Barrack: “Lebanon Will Not Face a Second Israel War”

Tom Barrack, the US Ambassador to Ankara and Special Representative for Syria, has asserted that Lebanon will not face another war with Israel, emphasizing the need for peace and the implementation of a ceasefire agreement.

Kokcha News Agency: In an interview with Lebanon-based Al-Jadeed channel, Tom Barrack, the US Ambassador to Ankara and Special Representative for Syria, stated that while a ceasefire agreement exists between Lebanon and Israel, both parties are struggling to implement it.

Barrack highlighted the US’s role in Lebanon, saying, “We are in Lebanon because we want to help achieve peace. However, there is a timeline, and time is running out, so we are pushing for a consensus to be reached.”

He continued, “I am not just calling for the collection of weapons by the state, but there is a law in Lebanon that states there should only be one military institution. Lebanon must decide how to implement this law. Weapons must absolutely be surrendered.”

Regarding Israel’s stance on the ceasefire, Barrack clarified that he is not a negotiator but a political mediator trying to create a positive impact between the parties.

“Lebanon will not face a second Israel war,” Barrack stated, adding that US President Donald Trump is eager to assist Lebanon during these challenging times.
